Submission Guidelines

The Fringe 999 Poetry Forum is a twice-yearly online poetry journal that includes eleven (11) poems selected from eleven (11) different poets on or about the eleventh (11th) day of April and October.

Submissions are open from Aug 1 through Sep 11, 2025, for the Oct 11, 2025 edition
Submissions are open from Feb 1 through Feb 28, 2026, for the Apr 11, 2026 edition

Submissions are open to any poet writing in English from anywhere in the world. All who submit work must be at least 18 years of age.

Submit up to three (3) poems.
Begin each poem on a new page within the MS Word document.
Poems can be any length (poems one page or less preferred) or genre, but please do not send more than four pages in total.
No multiple submissions. Only the first submission will be accepted.

The preferred submission method is an MS Word document (.doc or .docx) attached to an email.

Poems should be single-spaced and left-justified. The poem title should be in Bold and not underlined. Concrete poems or poems with unusual usage of white space and odd spacing are discouraged and not usually accepted for publication because of formatting limitations.

Submit all poems (and all other work like Bio and author’s note) in Times New Roman 12-point font.

If you are unable to attach a .doc or .docx – you can copy and paste poems (left justified) within the body of the email.

In the same MS Word document (or in the body of the email if you are unable to attach a Word document), include a 50-word or less Bio written in the third person (note - a Bio longer than 50 words will be edited).

Bio should be publication-ready and include your full name as you want it published, plus your pronouns in the first sentence. Highlight what you do and include where you live. Mention only 2-3 publications and include relevant website links and social media handles.

In the same MS Word document (or in the body of the email if you are unable to attach a Word document), include under each poem a short author’s note describing in 50 words or less how the poem was created (author notes longer than 50 words will be edited).

For example, if the poem was created from a writing prompt, include the writing prompt and where the writing prompt originated.  If it was created on a walk in a park, describe how that happened.

All poems and writing must be original work of the poet and unpublished (personal blogs okay).

The Fringe 999 Poetry Forum does not accept work that exhibits racism, xenophobia, sexism, ageism, classism, religious prejudice, ableism, or hatred of any marginalized group or individual.

Do not send poems written (fully or partially) by any form of AI.

Translations are not accepted at this time.

Submissions are accepted only via email at laura.daniels.117@gmail.com
email spelled out: laura(dot)daniels(dot)117@gmail.com

Email Subject line: "POETRY SUBMISSION: First Last Name"
Only one MS Word document should be attached to the submission email.

Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but please notify The Fringe 999 Poetry Forum immediately if the work is accepted elsewhere and needs to be withdrawn.

Expect a response to your submission within 30 days, though it may be longer at times.

NOTE: ONLY .doc or .docx accepted – PDFs, Google docs, .pages, and any other format attached to the submission email will not be read. Submissions that do not follow all the guidelines outlined in this document will not be read.

While there is no monetary payment, submission is free.

We would love to hear from new and emerging writers, under-represented voices, and established writers. If you have contributed earlier, The Fringe 999 Poetry Forum adored your work and is always happy to read more, but consideration may be given to new poets.

If a poem is published, wait one year to submit again.

Also, wait until you've heard back regarding a submission before submitting additional work.

If accepted, your work will appear digitally online.

By submitting to The Fringe 999 Poetry Forum, you agree that your work is original and unpublished and that you are the author. If accepted, The Fringe 999 Poetry Forum will acquire the First North American Serial and First Electronic Rights. All rights revert to the author after publication. Contributors agree to credit The Fringe 999 Poetry Forum as the place where their work first appeared. The Fringe 999 Poetry Forum reserves the right to archive your work in perpetuity and, with your permission, anthologize your work in the future.

Once The Fringe 999 Poetry Forum receives a submission, no changes to the submission will be accepted. If a submitter wants to revise, you must withdraw the entire submission, make any desired changes, and submit the new, revised submission in its entirety.

Unfortunately, due to the volume of submissions received and editorial time constraints, The Fringe 999 Poetry Forum is unable to provide feedback on any submission nor comment on specific selection decisions made by the editors.

Submissions are accepted only by email at: laura.daniels.117@gmail.com

If an author’s work appears in a collection or anthology, we ask that you include us in the acknowledgments because it’s the cool thing to do.

Thank you for submitting.
